The world’s first sowing and weeding robot
The FarmDroid FD20 is an autonomous field robot controlled by precise GPS technology which undertakes both sowing and weeding in and between rows.
The FarmDroid is an entirely self-sufficient robot driven by two batteries that are powered by solar panels making it a carbon-neutral machine.
Agri-Droid is a family run business headed up by Shropshire-based brothers Chris & Ed Brettell. Founded in 2021, Agri-Droid is the official distributor of the FarmDroid FD20 in the counties of Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Powys, Clwyd and Cheshire. We are proud to have brought this innovative robot to the country, including using it to grow our own crops with great success.
Advantages of the FarmDroid FD20
✔ Autonomous operation
Automatic sowing and weed control.
✔ Weeding in the row
Resulting in a significant reduction of manual work.
✔ CO2 Neutral
Energy supplied by solar panels and stored in batteries.
✔ Herbicide-free
Purely mechanical weed treatment, the ability to begin weeding before plants are in rows thanks to the GPS technology, not reliant on crop sensors.
✔ Short payback period
Between 2-3 years and maybe less with grants becoming available!
✔ Soil-friendly
The structure of the soil is maintained by a low machine weight of 900 kg and you can start weeding far earlier than if with a tractor due to soil conditions.
